Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these runners from the swift completion of their appointed race. Until last week, that is. Due to the unrunnable conditions at National Trail Raceway in Hebron, Ohio, the annual OHSAA cross-country state championship was postponed for one week. That didn’t discourage Southview runners Cameron Garcia and Brendan Hammer from putting in an unexpected extra week of practice. Even though their running was tapered a week ago in preparation for the ultimate race of their high school careers, Cam & Hammer showed true grit while competing against 184 of the best of the best. While neither made the podium, they carried on the tradition of excellence of Southview cross-country.
